Desert Botanical Garden-Phoenix

This is a very well done desert botanical garden at Phoenix. Those giant cactus plants are very impressing.

We spent a wonderful sunny day at the Gardens in early December, the weather was cool and comfortable. Lovely cactus plants everywhere...

The variety of desert plants is amazing: so many different kinds of cactus and many desert plants in all kinds of shapes and forms, plus there are many lovely birds in the garden. So much to experience!

A beautiful garden in Solvang

A beautiful garden in Solvang
filled with roses
rosemary
and some other bright and beautiful flowers
I think it is a shop behind the garden
I feel like to have a cup of tea here
so lovely

Is this flowers of rosemary or lavender?
masses of beautifully scented flowers above silvery-grey foliage,
such a beautiful morning
and I saw red colour fungus too!

first time see this bright red flower, poppy?

The leaves in the above photo looks like mint...

Ginger Garden at. Singapore Botanical Garden

Ginger Garden at. Singapore Botanic Gardens
The one-hectare Ginger Garden contains more than 250 species of members from the family Zingiberaceae and its relatives. Many have surprisingly interesting plant forms, beautiful leaves and very attractive flowers. You will also find plants such as bananas, heliconias, prayer plants, cannas, and a little known family called the Lowiaceae with vaguely orchid-like flowers. The Ginger Garden has been divided into special zones where one may find gingers organized by themes such as beauty or usefulness, or regions of their origin.

The Singapore Zoological Garden

Don't think that animals are the only things you will see at the Singapore Zoo. One of my favourite places is The Singapore Zoological Garden where the well-known orang utan Ah Meng was laid to rest, the garden was designed in the French Renaissance style. It is a horticultural display designed to complement and contrast with the rest of the Singapore Zoo gardens. There is a good place for plant lovers is the tropical crops plantation.  There are a wide range of cash crops, vegetables, spices and aquatic plants. This exhibit includes a footpath to facilitate visitor's viewing has more than 50 species of edible plants. Amongst these are the nutmeg, cocoa, chili, Passion fruit vines,  bottle and snake gourds etc. This plantation proves to be an educational place not only for children but also for adults like me who want to learn more about crops and fruits.

Children will be excited to see all these plants...
