It is one of the most original plants in the jungles of South-East Asia, In Singapore it can be spotted in our Central Nature Reserves, as well as in Bukit Batok Nature Park, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
According to some articles, a relative of the bat lily that can also be found in Singapore is the seashore bat lily (Tacca leontopetaloides). This species grows in coastal forests. But I have not seen them yet.

Since this plant is adapted to growing in the
shady understorey of forests, so I don't think it is easy to grow at home, it is hard to provide them such a dark damp area in our home garden, it will a great challenge for whoever want to grow it as flowering plants. 
Picture shown on the left above from wikipedia is Tacca chantrieri, it is another species of bat lily, with black flower, I am not sure if it can be found in Singapore, one of the rarest plants with this colour.

In your article, you were wondering if Tacca chantrieri (Black Bat Lily) can be found in Singapore. The good news is that it is fairly common. They can be found growing freely under the trees in Bishan Park 2.
